Removing the headlamp bulb

Make sure that the head lam p switch is in the OFF position.
Lift the hood , open the hinged head lam p cover, and behind
the head lam p rem ove the electrical connector by grasp ing
the wires and pulling rearw ard .

Remove the bu lb retaining ring by tu rning it 1/ 8 of a tu rn to
free it from the socket. Then slid e the ring off the plastic
base. Keep the rin g. You must use it again to hold the new
bu lb in place.
Carefu lly rem ove the bu lb assem bly from its socket by
gently pulling it rearw ard withou t tu rning.
Installing the headlamp bulb

With the flat sid e of the bu lb’s plastic base facing upward ,
insert the glass end of the bu lb into the socket. You may
need to tu rn the bu lb left or right to line up the grooves in
the plastic base with the tabs in the socket. When the
grooves are aligned , push the bu lb into the socket until the
plastic base contacts the rear of the socket.

Slip the bu lb retaining ring over the plastic base until it
contacts the rear of the socket. Lock the ring into the socket
by rotating it clockw ise until you feel a “stop .”

Pu sh the electrical connector into the rear of the plastic base
until it snap s, locking it into position.
Turn the head lam ps on and make sure that they work
prop erly. If the head lam p was correctly aligned before you
changed the bu lb, you shou ld not need to align it again.
