Warning Light s and Gauges
Check Brake Lamps
This warning message is displayed when you tu rn on you r
brakelam ps by pressing the brake pedal and at least one of the
lam ps is bu rned out.
If you use ad ditional lights, such as trailer lights, or if you
rep lace the head lam ps or bu lbs with equ ipment that is not equ al
to the original equ ipment from Ford , you may get a false
“CH ECK LAMPS” warning or no warning at all.
Air Ride Switch Off (If equipped)
This warning message is displayed when the air suspension
switch, located in the rear jack stow age area on the left sid e, is
off. For inform ation abou t the operation of the air suspension
switch, see Automatic ride control system in the Ind ex.
Check Air Ride System (If equipped)
This warning message is displayed when an air suspension
system fau lt has been detected . If this warning message is
disp layed while driving, safely pull off the road at you r earliest
convenience. If the vehicle is load ed beyond the recom mend ed
maxim um payload , the CH ECK AIR RIDE SYSTEM message
may be displayed . This is a norm al cond ition if the vehicle is
overload ed. To correct this cond ition, rem ove or red istribu te the
payload per the recom mend ed maxim um requ irem ents. Turn the
ignition switch from ON to OFF and ON again. If the warning
message reap pears, tu rn the air suspension switch (located in
the rear jack stow age area on the left sid e) OFF and take you r
vehicle to a dealership for service as soon as possible.
Change Oil Soon or Oil Change Required
One of these warning messages is displayed when the engine oil
life rem aining is 5% or less. When Oil Life Left is betw een 5%
and 0%, the “CH AN GE OIL SOON ” message will be displayed .
When Oil Life Left reaches 0%, the “OIL CH AN GE REQUIRED”
message will be displayed .
