Trailer Towing (may require trailer tow option package)
Tow ing a trailer puts ad ditional load s on you r vehicle’s engine,
transm ission, axle, brakes, tires and suspension. For you r safety
and for the good of you r vehicle, use the right equ ipment for
the typ e of trailer you tow .
Your trailer tow ing cap ability will vary based on the stand ard
and optional equ ipment on you r vehicle. Refer to the follow ing
Vehicle Loading/Towing Information and the Trailer Tow ing Tables
to determ ine the specific tow ing cap ability of you r vehicle.

Stay within the load limits when you tow .
Carefu lly and thorou ghly prep are you r vehicle for tow ing,
making sure to use the right equ ipment and to attach it
prop erly. (See Preparing to Tow in this chap ter.)

Use extra cau tion when driving you r vehicle while you tow .

Service you r vehicle more frequ ently if you tow a trailer.
(See Servicing your vehicle if you tow in this chap ter.)
Do not tow a trailer until you r vehicle has been driven at least
500 miles (800 km ).
Vehicle Loading/Towing Information
Your vehicle’s load cap acity is designated by weight, not
volu me, so you cannot necessarily use all available space with
large or heavy load s. Maxim um safe vehicle weights as well as
tire, rim sizes and inflation pressu res are specified for you r
vehicle at the assem bly plant on the Safety Com pliance
Certification Label. The Certification Label is located on the left
front door lock facing or the door latch post pillar.
