Local regu lations may prohibit or restrict the use of tire
chains. Investigate the law s and regu lations in you r area
before installing chains.
Pu t the chains on tightly with the end s held dow n secu rely.
Verify that no chain tou ches any wiring, brake lines, or fuel
lines. Follow the chain manu factu rer’s instru ctions.
Drive slow ly. If you can hear the chains ru b or bang against
you r vehicle, stop the vehicle and tighten the chains. If you
continu e to hear the chains ru b or bang against you r vehicle,
rem ove the chains to prevent dam age to you r vehicle.

Avoid fully load ing you r vehicle if possible.
Tire chains may affect vehicle hand ling. Drive carefu lly and
avoid hard braking.
Remove tire chains at the first opportu nity after using them on
snow and ice. Do not use the chains on dry road s.

Make sure you r suspension insu lation and bu mpers are not
missing or worn to avoid dam age to you r vehicle.
Cleaning the Wheels
Wash the wheels with the sam e detergent you use to wash you r
vehicle’s bod y. Do not use acid -based wheel cleaners, steel wool,
abrasives, fuel, or strong detergents. These substances will
dam age protective coatings. Use tar and road oil rem over to
rem ove grease and tar.
NOTE: Before goin g to a car wash , fin d out if the brushes are
abrasive.
If you have raised white letter tires that are difficult to clean
with regu lar detergent, use whitew all tire cleaner. Follow the
directions on the container and rinse the tires with plenty of
clean water.
