Do not qu ickly move the steering wheel unless necessary.
Drive slow er than you norm ally would.
Give you r vehicle more distance to stop .
Pu mp the brake pedal stead ily and evenly to avoid locking
you r front wheels (excep t with 4WABS).

To stop on ice, shift to N (Neutral) below 10 mph (15 km / h)
and gently pump brakes (excep t with 4WABS).

Consid er using one of the low er gears.
For 4x4 vehicles, engage 4WD, and try to drive slow ly aw ay.
RWARN ING
To avoid losin g control on slip pery road s, do not
downshift into Low with the autom atic tran smission
when movin g faster than 20 mph (32 km/h). Do not
downshift into First with the manual tran smission when
movin g faster than 5 mph (8 km/h).
Traction-Lok Rear Axle (If equipped)
This axle provid es ad ded drive aw ay traction on slip pery
surfaces, particu larly when one or more wheels are on a surface
with poor traction.
Extend ed use of other than matching size tires on a
Traction-Lok rear axle could resu lt in a perm anent red uction in
effectiveness. This loss of effectiveness does not affect norm al
driving and shou ld not be noticeable to the driver.
