NOTE: When the combination lap /sh oulder belt is unbuckled
and allow ed to retract completely, the retractor will
switch to the veh icle sen sitive (emergen cy) lock ing
mode. See the detailed instru ction s under Safety Seats
for Children in this chapter.
Shoulder Belt Height Adjustment
Driver and right front passenger
The driver and right front passenger shou lder belt height is
ad justable to one of five (5) positions.
To ad just the belt dow n, push the release bu tton on the ad juster
dow n and slid e the ad juster dow n. Then release the bu tton and
make sure the ad juster is firm ly in one of the five (5) positions.
To ad just the belt up, slid e the ad juster up. (You do not have to
push the release bu tton.) Slide it up or dow n until the belt rests
across the middle of you r shou lder.
RWARN ING
Position the shoulder belt heigh t adjuster so that the belt
rests across the middle of you r shoulder. Be sure the
shoulder belt is prop erly position ed on you r shoulder
each tim e you use the belt. If the shoulder belt is off
you r shoulder, on you r upper arm or neck, there is a
greater risk of severe injury in a collision .
